## Who are we

Our website address: https://en.tabella.org. Publishing Board of Tabella is the council that maintains the Website. It also acts as the decision-maker for the Website, publishes the new articles and issues, and edits the new articles. (refer to https://tabella.org/english/the-team/).

Listed under the title “Tabella Editors” are those who function as the “Publishing Board of Tabella” and also responsible for editing the articles submitted to the Website.

## Why we collect private information

### Comments

When visitors leave comments, we collect the data indicated in the comment form, the IP address, and the browser information text in order to help the effort of locating unwanted comments.

An anonymised string formed from your e-mail address (also known as hash) may be provided to the Gravatar to see whether you use the service or not. Privacy policy of the Gravatar can be found in this address: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Your comment, after confirmation, will be made visible to the public with your profile picture.

### Media

If you upload visual material to the Website, you should avoid visual materials embedded with the location data (EXIF GPS).

Website visitors can download and extract any location data embedded in the visual material of the Website.

### Contact forms

You can use the Contact Us form if you wish to reach out to Publishing Board of Tabella . Once you fill this form (or send an e-mail directly to info@tabella.org) your name, e-mail address and the content of the e-mail will be sent to an e-mail address only accessible by the “Tabella Editors” and used only for replying to the received e-mails. After replying to the received e-mails, data you have sent to us (your name, e-mail address, and content) will remain in our e-mail address indefinitely. Reason for this indefinite storing is to be able to reply to the e-mails in a correct and controlled manner.

### Join us forms and submitted articles

If you wish to have one of your articles published on Tabella, or wish to become a regular writer in Tabella, you may use the “Join Us” form. You send us the following data by fulfilling this form: your name, your e-mail address, your age, your “describe yourself” content, and whether you wish to be a regular writer or not, alongside with your sample article. This data is thereafter sent to an e-mail address to which only Tabella Editors has access and kept there indefinitely (even if your submission is rejected). Reason for this is to keep the possibility of future reassessment of previously decided submissions. All of the data provided, especially the sample article, by you are accessed for the purpose of assessment by one of the Tabella Editors.

If your submission is accepted, data you have provided will be accessible by the Tabella Editors. Reason for this is to allow for editing and preparation of the data before publishing. After your article is published, all of the data you have provided (your sample article submission and “describe yourself” content after editing) will be kept in the Website’s database. Your name, your edited “describe yourself” content, your published edited article, and your e-mail address will be publicly accessible on the Website. However, your age will be publicly displayed and only used for the assessment of your submission.

Thereafter, if you become a regular writer, you can send your new articles before the next issue to Tabella editors via e-mail or other means. As mentioned before, all the articles you send will be accessible to the editors for the purpose of editing. These (edited) articles will be kept indefinitely in the Website’s database, as mentioned previously, or kept on a platform only accessible by the editors. At the same time, when you become a regular writer, you will be required to provide a picture of yourself. This picture will be publicly displayed on the Website and will be kept indefinitely as long as you do not ask for its removal.

### Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this website may contain embedded material (e.g. videos, pictures, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites will behave as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites can collect information about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking and, if you have an account and you have logged in on this website, can monitor your interaction, including your interaction with the embedded content.

### Analysis

Tabella uses WordPress.com Stats statistics collecting tool to analyse how many views any page receives. This tool uses the visitor’s IP address, WordPress.com user ID (if logged in), WordPress.com username (if logged in), the web browser that is used, address of page that is visited, which web page you have been directed from to our website, time of visit, language of the web browser, and your country code.

However, we (website owner) do not have access to any of these data via the tool. For instance, we (website owner) can see that a specific post has 285 views, but we cannot see which specific users/accounts viewed that post. Stats logs — containing visitor IP addresses and WordPress.com usernames (if available) — are retained by Automattic for 28 days and are used for the sole purpose of powering this feature.

### Social media sharing buttons

Posts on Tabella contain some buttons which facilitate sharing the post on social media sites. Each of these official sharing buttons load content directly from its service in order to display the button as well as information and tools for the sharing user. As a result, each service can in turn collect information about the sharing party.

## Who we share your data with

In order for some features of our Site to work, we share your data with some third-party service providers. These service providers and why we share your data is as follows:

[Automattic](https://automattic.com/): data is shared in order to power the statistics gathering/analysis tool "WordPress.com Stats". Please refer to the section titled "Analysis" within this page for more details about what is shared.

[Jetpack](https://jetpack.com/): Used to analyse the effect of WordPress.com Stats tool on site performance. For more details on what data is shared, please refer to the "Analysis" section. Also, the images sent to us by our users (e.g. author photos sent by the authors or images sent alongside posts), may be served to you from Jetpack's CDN in order to give you better performance. Therefore, this data may be shared with Jetpack's CDN servers. To get more information about this feature (including privacy information) please click on [this link](https://jetpack.com/support/site-accelerator/#privacy).

Some social media service providers (Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Tumblr): When official sharing buttons are active on the site, each button loads content directly from its service in order to display the button as well as information and tools for the sharing party. As a result, each service can in turn collect information about the sharing party. For more information, please refer to the "Social media sharing buttons" section.

User-submitted images (e.g. author photos sent by the authors or images sent alongside posts) may be transmitted to image compression servers in the United States and stored there for up to 30 days.

We serve some files and images on our website from the Stackpath Content Delivery Network (CDN) instead of our own servers. Nevertheless, you do not lose your right to publish your post in other platforms by sending it to us.
